I intend to get a Masters of Divinity. I do not know where or when exactly. I want to take a break after my undergraduate studies, and I want to get a job post-grad. I also intend to go online and part-time once I do decide to go back.

Design and Editorial Intern

Writers’ Festival, Agnes Scott College 

January 2019 – Present

• Study elements of the publishing industry including copyediting, developmental editing, book and magazine production, the different roles within the industry, and The Chicago Manual of Style to become further acquainted with each respective subject area

• Work on the festival design team, specifically formatting and designing the Writers’ Festival Magazine in Adobe InDesign to showcase the festival’s finalists as well as assisting in the design of flyers and other promotional material

• Copyedit and developmentally edit playwriting and fiction pieces for the magazine

Writing and Speaking Tutor

Center for Writing and Speaking, Agnes Scott College 

August 2016 – Present

• Selected by Center staff to assist faculty and tutor peers 10 hours per week on oral and written assignments at any stage of the process: brainstorming, outlining, writing, and/or revising and polishing

• Engage in committee work related to the production of the interdisciplinary research journal, The Onyx Review, such as formatting content for the online and print editions, copyediting accepted research submissions, and creating promotional materials

• Complete annual 4-day training on addressing the diverse needs of tutees and using tutoring strategies, including how to provide guidance on writing for different academic fields as well as for job/graduate school applications

UIC’s Novel Idea (book club), United in Christ Christian Church

• Plan and lead monthly meetings of up to ten members to discuss the current book and outreach plans such as a book fair or volunteering at a literary event or organization
