This year we kept up with our previous traditions: Ms. Cholie’s, The Cenacle, continuous fellowship; we also started using the library more for meetings. We did, however, expand with our inreach.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

I grew up with Reading is Fundamental (RIF), and there are programs out there now (RIF is still out there, though, I think) like 1000 Books before Kindergarten. What it all boils down to, in my mind, is that we should get children reading—literacy is so important. So, this year, as a part our church’s Academic Saturday, we gave all of the participant’s a book to go with the school supplies that the church gives. This is a new tradition that we are starting, and we plan to do this every year. In terms of improvement, I plan to have us look at the registered children’s grade levels so that we have the exact amount of grade level appropriate books.
